Department of Plant Medicals

This is the field of applied biology for diagnosing pathological problems, insect damage and biological disorders of plants, and prescribing medication for the plants. The course of study includes advanced level courses on microbiology and entomology, as well as basic biology. The students of the department are taught the cutting edge of bioscience like genetic engineering of microorganisms and insects and their industrial uses, and applied chemistry like modeling for ecosystem management. The mission of the department is to teach students to research and diagnose the root cause (such as an insect) of the damage to the production of biological resources, then to build a safe environment for the production of these resources, and finally to protect the environment which provides people with a healthy life. The objective of the department is to educate professionals who will contribute to related fields after graduation. At the end of our program, students can find job opportunities in national/public research centers, as plant inspectors, leaders in farming towns, agricultural department officer, Nonghyup, National Forestry Cooperative Federation, Unions related to agriculture and forestry, agricultural pesticide companies, bio-pesticide companies, seed companies, and finally fertilizer companies.
