Social welfare is a critical national role and responsibility that guarantees a dignified life for all humans and enhances the quality of life. Social welfare studies is an academic field focused on systematically learning about national policies, systems, programs, and services that can prevent, reduce, and solve social issues to improve the quality of life for all citizens in our society. Moreover, it is an essential curriculum for those aspiring to become social workers. National social welfare aims to improve the quality of life for citizens through scientific analysis and intervention strategies for various social issues. For this purpose, social workers must understand social welfare policies and systems, and acquire the theories, knowledge, and skills necessary to solve various social problems and needs, along with the basic competencies required. In line with this, the social welfare major at Andong National University provides educational services that enable students to learn systematized theories and knowledge on national social welfare policies and systems, administration, and social welfare practice. It aims to cultivate social welfare professionals who possess the insight and practical abilities required for individuals, families, communities, and nations to function effectively.
