Child Studies Major

Child studies is an academic field focused on understanding the development of children, who will shape our future society. Additionally, child studies explore phenomena and issues concerning children within a societal framework. Its primary aim is to promote the healthy growth and development of children and enhance their quality of life. The Child Studies program at Andong National University is designed for students seeking both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for careers in infant and child care, as well as adolescent counseling. To achieve these goals, our curriculum prioritizes both practical experience and theory, enabling students to develop problem-solving abilities concerning children's growth across diverse contexts. Additionally, the program provides students with foundational knowledge of development from infancy through adolescence, coupled with specialized expertise in child care and counseling. Furthermore, the program prioritizes students' immersive learning experiences to cultivate effective professionals in the field. Lastly, the Child Studies program at Andong National University facilitates collaboration with the community to prepare students for global and local leadership, while also broadening their perspectives to understand children from diverse cultural backgrounds.
